Green Isle of Wight CIC (Green IOW) is a community interest company dedicated to helping Island households and businesses reduce energy use, lower bills and cut carbon—while tackling fuel poverty.

As a CIC, we reinvest profits back into local initiatives that benefit the community.  

What we offer

• Energy advice (home + business): practical, personalised guidance to reduce consumption and improve comfort.  

• EPCs (Energy Performance Certificates): for homeowners, landlords and estate agents—delivered by trained, qualified staff.  

• Retrofit Assessments (TrustMark-approved): comprehensive assessments including a full floorplan plus energy performance, condition and occupancy reporting to support a staged retrofit plan.  

• Measured heat loss + full heat loss calculations (British Standards): room-by-room and whole-dwelling heat loss calculations to support heating system design and retrofit decisions (e.g., radiator sizing, heat pump readiness, insulation prioritisation).

• Bespoke energy consultations: in-home sessions with tailored recommendations and next steps.  

• Talks & community sessions: engaging energy advice talks for community groups and organisations.  

Support for eligible households (LEAP)We deliver the Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) on the Isle of Wight, offering free telephone advice and in-depth home visits for eligible households, including the installation of “easy measures” such as LED bulbs, draught-proofing items, radiator panels, chimney balloons and more (where suitable).

We can also help connect households to wider support such as heating/insulation schemes, broken boiler support, essential appliance help and other assistance (eligibility dependent).  Quality and safeguardingOur team is qualified in energy advice, we employ TrustMark-approved staff for home energy surveys/retrofit assessments, and staff are DBS-checked for peace of mind.
